The Judges

The “Good Guy” is chosen through a combination of online votes and scores from a panel of local judges. Votes and judges’ scores are weighted equally to determine the winner.

Susan Frank
CEO
Desert Schools Federal Credit Union


 

Susan Frank has been with Desert Schools since 1992 after serving twelve years with Bethpage Federal Credit Union in New York. She is active in the credit union movement at the state and local levels and was instrumental in expanding the number of products and services offered at Desert Schools, as well as initiating a TQM philosophy and goal-oriented bonus program. She received her Bachelors Degree in Education and Psychology from the State University of New York in 1976, her Masters Degree in Business Administration from New York Institute of Technology in 1990 and additional graduate work at Hofstra University in New York.

Susan serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Credit Union League as Treasurer; the Board of Directors of the Valley of the Sun United Way; the Xavier Foundation Endowment Advisory Board; and the Filene Research Council. She also serves on the Audit Committee of Financial Service Centers Cooperative; and is a past chairman of the Board of Directors of Communities In Schools of Arizona; and a past president and member of the Kiwanis Club of Phoenix.


Adam Goodman

Adam Goodman is the third generation to lead the family business. In his 17-year career with Goodmans, Adam transformed the family business and established Goodmans' stake in the emerging fields of interior construction and flexible infrastructure. In 2004, Adam assumed the presidency of the company and unveiled the results of a $2.5 million renovation of Goodmans' flagship Phoenix showroom, making it a concept center for key philosophies in office design, including increasing the productivity of employees and reducing the cost of owning, maintaining and changing office space. In 2004, Adam also founded Coherent Structures, an independent interior construction company representing a full line of building technology products.

Adam has held leadership positions with the Jewish Community Center of Greater Phoenix, Arizona Cancer Center, Young Presidents Organization, Phoenix Country Day School, the WP Carey School of Business Economic Club of Phoenix and the Herman Miller Certified Dealer Network.

Sue Sylvester

Sue Sylvester has over 20 years of experience in the A/E/C industry in the southwest region. She is the Director of Business Development for Adolfson & Peterson Construction in the Southwest Region. Sue is a graduate of Arizona State University in Design and a LEED Accredited Professional with a Business Strategies for the Environment Executive designation from Stanford University. Sue co founded the US Green Building Council Arizona Chapter and serves as past chair. She also serves Valley Forward as a board member and a past board member for the Foundation for Education for the Phoenix Union High School District. Sue is married with two children and calls Phoenix her home town as a Minnesota refugee.
